Get in Touch With Offices

Seneca County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, arrange a release or bond, or obtain an official booking record. Direct those requests to the applicable public office below.

Records, Custody, and Court Routing

The correct office depends on the question. The Sheriff’s Records Division is the central repository for Sheriff records; Corrections handles facility-related custody questions; and a court clerk or e-Courts handles the later case record and disposition. An arrest charge is an accusation, and an official court record is the appropriate source for the outcome.

Choose the Right Official Source

Use the source that created or maintains the information. The following routes reflect the distinct custody and record systems documented for Seneca County.

  • For a Sheriff booking record, record request, or photograph request, start with the Sheriff’s Records Division. New York Public Officers Law Article 6 governs the written-request process, and booking-photo release remains subject to privacy and other exemptions.
  • For a current facility-related question, use the Corrections office. A dated Sheriff release is not by itself proof that someone remains in custody.
  • For an arrest narrative or the recent official archive, use the Sheriff press-release archive; for broader context, see the county records and arrest-source page.
  • For a court appearance, charge change, or final disposition, use New York e-Courts or the court identified in the record. Court files follow court access rules, not ordinary executive-agency FOIL.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the DOCCS incarcerated lookup. It is not a county booking-photo service.
  • For federal custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator; for immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator.

Some records belong to the arresting department rather than the Sheriff. Seneca Falls Police records are held by that department, while Village of Waterloo records should be directed to the Village Police or Village Clerk. Fayette has no separate town police records unit identified in the official source sweep.
